\u201cSpontaneous Protection Enabling Accelerated Response\u201d is the acronym of a North American martial art form called SPEAR system. This \u201chybrid\u201d form of combat is said to have originated from Canada during the 1980\u2019s, and has been developed by Tony Bauer. Furthermore, this form of martial art is said to have introduced into several law enforcement agencies around the world.\u00a0 In addition, this form of martial art essentially encourages the effective use of \u201creflex action\u201d by an individual during threatening situations.<\/p>\n
a. History\/origin of the SPEAR system:<\/strong><\/p>\n Apparently, this martial art system is said to have originated in Canada during the 1980\u2019s. Furthermore, it was developed by Tony Blauer using elements belonging to the \u201cPanic attack study\u201d which was then transformed into a program called \u201cBe your own bodyguard\u201d before finally it was converted into the present day \u201cSPEAR and Personal Defense Readiness (PDR) Program\u201d. In addition, this system is said to be a form of \u201cself defense\u201d that mainly focuses on how to \u201cdetect, defuse, and defend\u201d against surprise assaults.<\/p>\n b. Weapon used in the SPEAR system:<\/strong><\/p>\n It is the integration of the human body\u2019s reflexive response with the instinctive survival mechanism that is used a weapon in this form of combat.
