This \u201chybrid\u201d martial art form is said to have originated from South Korea, and was created by a martial artist named Kang Jun. Apparently, this martial art form proves to be extremely useful in \u201cfree flowing fighting situations\u201d rather than \u201cstatic\u201d ones. Furthermore, some of the moves used in this form of combat have been inspired from western boxing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>a. History\/origin of Gongkwon Yusull:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Gongkwon Yusull was first created by a South Korean martial artist named Kang Jun. Now, according to Jun Korean martial art forms lay too high an emphasis on the use \u201cstriking\u201d techniques such as kicking and punching and less on \u201csparring\u201d.\u00a0 Furthermore, it was his mastery in Judo that made him realize that a combat form comprising of \u201cstriking and grappling techniques\u201d could prove to be very effective. And so he developed such a martial art form that combined elements belonging to \u201cstriking\u201d and \u201cgrappling\u201d which was then named Gongkwon Yusull. In addition, it was eventually in 1996 that he then created his own martial art school known as \u201cCombat Style Hap Ki Do\u201d and taught students this unique style of fighting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>b. Weapon used in the Gongkwon Yusull:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since this combat form involves the use of \u201cgrappling\u201d and \u201cstriking\u201d techniques the weapon used mainly are the \u201chands and legs\u201d of the fighter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>c. Technique involved in the Gongkwon Yusull and training availability:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In terms of technique, a fighter in this form of martial art essentially uses moves such as striking i.e. kicking and punching, locking, and throwing techniques. Furthermore, some of the hand movements used in this combat form was inspired from western boxing.
