This \u201chybrid\u201d combat form is supposed to have originated from Japan. In addition, in Jujutsu an opponent is overcome without the use of any kind of weapon. Apparently, this martial art form was developed in the Japanese society to counter the growing popularity of the \u201cSamurai\u201d. Furthermore, as of today this combat form is practiced as a traditional as well as a modern sport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>a. History\/origin of the Jujutsu:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the cultural history of Japan, Jujutsu was first developed in the country during the Sengoku and the Muromachi era. Apparently, it was created using elements belonging to various Japanese close combat forms that were used by soldiers in the battlefield. Furthermore, it was in the 17<sup>th<\/sup> century during the Edo era that this combat form actually began to evolve from its original style due to the strict laws that were laid down by Tokugawa Shogunate feudal government. In addition, it was also during this period that the term \u201cjujutsu\u201d was first coined to describe this \u201cgrappling\u201d from of martial art. In fact, the evolution of jujutsu as a form of combat was because the Japanese society was highly influenced by the Chinese \u201cNeo-Confucianism\u201d philosophy, and they also wanted to prevent more wars.\u00a0 As a result of which, the use of weapons and armors were shunned and were replaced by combat forms that involved use of \u201cgrappling\u201d techniques. Apart from grappling, striking techniques that included \u201ckicking and punching\u201d were also developed. However, the use of striking was limited to as a \u201ctool for distraction\u201d since it was discovered that too much energy was wasted using this technique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>b. Weapon used in the Jujutsu: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">External weapons such as swords, knives etc are completely prohibited in Jujutsu, and hence the weapon mainly used in Jujutsu are the \u201chands and feet\u201d of the fighter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>c. Technique involved in the Jujutsu and training availability:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In terms of technique, Jujutsu is actually based on a philosophy which states that \u201cIt is better to yield to the force applied by an opponent rather than resisting it using more force\u201d.
