Belonging to a community called \u201cIfugao\u201d is a Southeast Asian martial art form known as Bultong. This \u201ctraditional\u201d combat form is said to have originated from within a province called \u201cIfugao\u201d located in Philippines. Apparently, this martial art form is very frequently performed during festive occasions. Furthermore, this martial art form is further classified into a category called \u201cbelt wrestling\u201d. In addition, in this form of combat a fighter\/wrestler basically wears a traditional dress in the form of a \u201cloin\u201d cloth.<\/p>\n
a. History\/origin of Bultong: <\/strong><\/p>\n In terms of the history\/origin of the Bultong, there is no definite information available. Apparently, it is an ancient combat form that has existed in the Filipino culture for centuries.<\/p>\n b. Weapon used in the Bultong: <\/strong><\/p>\n Since \u201cgrappling\u201d technique is mostly used in the combat form the \u201chands and the legs\u201d of the wrestler is the weapon used.<\/p>\n c. Technique used in the Bultong and training availability: <\/strong><\/p>\n In terms of technique, a fighter basically aims to pin the upper back \/shoulder area of the opponent on the ground to achieve victory. And so moves such as take \u201cdowns or pin downs\u201d are mainly used in this martial art form. As for training centers\/schools, there are none available around the world for this \u201ctraditional\u201d martial art form.<\/p>\n
